Silence is better than words
There are times when you might be irritated, feeling disappointed or energy less. All these situations are somewhat negative and tend to bring you down . I have realized that our brain does not work properly or is not in a position to take correct action when you are feeling low.
If there are cases when someone is trying to humiliate you or trying to over power you and you are not sure whether that person is correct or not and you don't know how should you behave - Revert back to their humiliations or just be silent : I have learnt it is better to be silent at those moments.
Yes, it could be possible that what you say at that moment may be right but if you are not sure then it is better to hear for a limited time and end the conversation rather than beating around the bush.
When you are silent there are chances audience may feel or think that you are dumb but if you are un-necessarily speaking just for the sake of speaking then you are definitely giving a proof that you are dumb.
This does not mean that you don't ask any question or doubts if among people or meeting or conference. You should always raise your hand for the slightest doubt if you have.
My focus is more on the one to one conversation. If you feel you are wrong or have done something incorrect just admit it and be quiet. This will end the conversation soon and rectify what you have done wrong earlier.
Giving explanation and the genuine reasons for the wrong doings does not go well. Admit your mistake and try being silent.
Silence also helps during anger. When you are angry your mind becomes negative and attracts all the negative and criminal ideas. I have learnt from my past mistakes that when ever you are angry (you are the best person to realize how you are feeling). If you are not peaceful and somehow feeling uneasy then at that moment I always recommend go in the silent mode. You will get temptation to act, to react and to do something which you are going to repent in future.
So the moment someone disappoints you, irritates you, forces you to become someone who you don't want to be, just move away and go in the silent zone till you become normal.
Give yourself time and keeping shutting your mind from doing anything wrong or taking any decision.
